FAQs

Machboos, which constitutes rice and spices, is considered as the most common dish made in Bahrain; it is prepared with fish, chicken or lamb as a side dish.

Bahraini style chicken biryani, traditionally accompanied with yogurt preparation and brimming with nicely spiced up ingredients, is often chosen by people from the country, looking for a soothing treat.

In order of preference, we have sambosos, i.e. crispy pastry pockets that are deep fried and stuffed with various fillings (meat, cheese, vegetables among others), as the popular starters or snacks in Bahrain.

In the case of Bahrain, tips are appreciated but usually not a must.

On the contrary, tipping servers in the range of 5 – 10% may already be included in the bill when dining out.

Yet, it is still customary to give excellent service providers extra 5 – 10% for top notch service.

The hospitality industry excludes the practice of tipping in hotel, taxi, and spa services while a tip is encouraged but not compulsory.

On the other hand, as a sign of courtesy you should always be generous especially when you realize the staff has gone beyond the call of duty.
